August 6, 2014 (TORONTO) - Íâ¹úÃÀŮɫÇéƬ Limited today announced July 2014 trading statistics for its marketplaces - Toronto Stock Exchange, TSX Venture Exchange, TMX Select, Alpha, Montreal Exchange (MX) and NGX.
Total TMX equities trading volume in July 2014 decreased 6% compared to the previous month, and decreased 4% compared to July 2013. Trading volume on Toronto Stock Exchange in July 2014 decreased 5% compared to June 2014, and decreased 7% compared to July 2013. Volume on TSX Venture Exchange decreased 9% in July 2014 compared to the previous month, and decreased 3% compared to July 2013. Trading volume on TMX Select in July 2014 increased 12% compared to June 2014, and increased 96% compared July 2013. Alpha trading volume in July 2014 decreased 5% compared to the previous month, and decreased 8% compared to July 2013.
In July 2014, volume on MX decreased 8% compared to the previous month, but increased 7% compared to the same month a year earlier. The level of open interest contracts at the end of July 2014 increased 8% compared to the end of June 2014, and increased 9% compared to the end of July 2013.
Volume on NGX in July 2014 increased 15% from June 2014, but decreased 2% compared to July 2013.
